Barbette Guest House

Barbette Guest House is an AA*** small friendly house situated about 15 minutes level walk from the town centre with all its' attractions. Our usual time for breakfast is between 0800 - 0930 hrs but if you have an early start we try to accommodate you. Alternatively there is a bus stop right outside for transport into or out of town during the day. We are often asked where the name came from and wondered this ourselves when we bought the property about 9 years ago.

We "googled" the name and came up with a mountain in Canada or a French gun emplacement and were nonplussed as to a reason for this name, we subsequently found that it had been called Barbette since it was built in the 1920s and it was a combination of the first owners' names.
